The spin-off series followed Sam and Cat as roommates who try to start a baby-sitting service to bring in some extra cash. Dan Schneider loved Nathan's acting skills that he asked him to audition for a similar character on a new sitcom, "iCarly". When the show got picked up, he cut Nathan's scene out of the episode of "Drake & Josh" to avoid confusing the audiences. On "iCarly" Nathan played, Freddie Benson, Carly's nerdy, tech loving next door neighbor who helps Carly make her web series, and he also has a crush on her. Carly and Freddie date on an episode of the show, but it's also interesting to note that Freddie dates Sam Puckett, Carly's best friend, for a few episodes.
